Delaware State Police: 2 Dead After Shooting In Casablanca Restaurant Parking Lot In New Castle County
NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. (CBS) -- Gunfire in a New Castle County restaurant's parking lot leaves two men dead. Delaware State Police responded to a shooting on the 4000 block of North Dupont Highway, at the Casablanca restaurant parking lot, just after 1 a.m. Friday.
Troopers found the body of a 28-year-old victim who was shot in the upper body and died at the scene. Authorities later learned that a 30-year-old victim was transported to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead.
The area is taped off and yellow evidence markers are still on the ground where the shooting happened as part of the ongoing investigation.
It's unclear what led to the shooting. The victims' names have not been released.
As a result of the shooting, one northbound lane of North DuPont Highway was temporarily closed between Memorial Drive and I-495, but has since reopened.
