Ben Franklin Bridge Reopens In Both Directions, Westbound Traffic Into Philadelphia Diverted To I-95
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Ben Franklin Bridge has reopened in both directions after being closed briefly Tuesday evening due to protests and police activity in Philadelphia, the Delaware River Port Authority announced. DRPA says all westbound traffic into the city will be diverted to I-95.
A large but peaceful group of protesters is marching through Center City Tuesday.
On Monday, it was a chaotic situation on the Vine Street Expressway after Philadelphia police tear-gassed demonstrators. Several arrests were made.
Philadelphia's curfew will go into effect at 8:30 p.m. and last until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
