Delaware Man's Attempted Robbery Gets Him Shot In The Leg And Under Arrest
NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. (CBS) – A 31-year-old man is under arrest in Delaware after attempting to break into a home in the Murray Manor Trailer Park.
On Saturday morning, police responded to a call of shots fired and reports of a burglary in progress. When the officers arrived at the house on Tenth Avenue, they were told that the 71-year-old homeowner confronted the suspect and fired at him. The suspect then fled on foot from the area.
After a brief search, a K-9 officer discovered David Lance, of the 2200 block of Glen Avon Road in Wilmington, hiding in a nearby wooded area. He was arrested and charged with burglary and related offenses. He also sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
The suspect was treated and released at Christiana Hospital and is now in police custody.
