Police: Delaware Man Critically Injured After Violent Parking Lot Assault
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) — Authorities in Newark, De are searching for two suspects that they say violently assaulted a man in a shopping center on Friday evening. The 22 year old victim of the attack was hospitalized in critical condition following the incident.
Police say the victim was seated in the passenger side of a parked vehicle at a Food Lion Grocery Store in Newark. The victim was in the company of a woman, 57, who was in the drivers seat.
Authorities say the two suspects approached the vehicle around 6:15 p.m., opened the passenger side door and one of the suspects began to physical assault the victim. Police say the two suspects fled in a white SUV.
The victim was administered emergency medical care that included the use of CPR. He was transported to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center. The woman in the vehicle was not harmed.
Police are still investigating the incident and have not determined a motive. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Delaware State Police.
