Delaware Man Charged With Raping Girl, 9
NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) - A Delaware man is behind bars after being charged with raping a nine-year-old girl.
Emerald A. Johnson, 33, has been charged with two counts of Rape First Degree, one count of Rape fourth degree and two counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact Second Degree.
According to investigators, Johnson was an acquaintance of the girl and her family. The incidents were reported to New Castle City police in late December of 2010, and the investigation continued through January of this year.
Johnson, who had been on the run since he ran from police two weeks ago after they attempted to apprehend him at his work, was found in Philadelphia with family.
He is being at the Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $114,000.00 secured bond pending a preliminary hearing.
