Delaware Man Arrested, Charged For Peeping, Stealing Lingerie
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – A 39-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a burglary and peeping tom incident.
Police say that around 1:30 a.m. officers responded to a home on Choate Street after receiving a call that a man was crouching near a first floor window.
Officials report that after finding the suspect who matched the description made by the caller they found women's lingerie in his waistband.
According to police, the suspect, Sean Maas of Wilmington, ran away when officers tried to take him into custody. Police say one officer pursued Maas and used a taser device which struck Maas in the back.
After an investigation police say that Maas broke into the Choate Street home and stole lingerie from the bedroom of a 21-year-old University of Delaware female student.
Maas was taken to Christiana Hospital for abrasions to his face and a broken tooth that he got after falling from being tasered. He was arrested and charged with second degree burglary, theft under $1,500, trespassing with intent to peep or peer and resisting arrest.
Maas was released on $8,000 bail.
Police are asking anyone with additional information to call 302-366-7110 ext. 135.
