Delaware Jobless Rate Rises Slightly

DOVER, Del. (AP) -- New figures show that Delaware's unemployment rate rose slightly in November, with little change over the past six months.

The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November was 8.4 percent, up slightly from the 8.3 percent rate recorded in October and September.

Delaware's jobless rate has hovered just under 8.5 percent since June, after peaking at 9.2 percent in February and March.

On a non-adjusted basis, figures released this week show Wilmington with the state's highest local jobless rate at 12.2 percent, up from 12.1 percent in October. Dover's unemployment rate was 10.1 percent, down from 10.4 percent.

Nationwide, the unemployment rate rose in November from 9.6 percent to 9.8 percent.
