Delaware Father Takes 3-Year-Old Son On Drug Buy
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) - Authorities in New Castle County have arrested a man after he attempted to deliver flour and sell it as cocaine with his 3-year-old son on Wednesday, police say.
Police responded to the unit block of Sheldrake Road in Newark after receiving information that the suspect, Mark Cool, was making drug deliveries from the residence. When officers arrived at the scene at about 4:30 p.m., Cool, 29, was seen entering his vehicle with his son and leaving the area, police say.
After discovering Cool was driving with a suspended license, officers conducted a traffic stop where they then discovered a baggie containing a white powdery substance, according to police. Further investigation revealed that the substance was flour and Cool attempted to sell it as cocaine at the Brookside Shopping Center, police say.
Cool was taken into custody and is being charged with possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and unlawfully dealing with a child.
He was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to post $10,550 cash bail and was ordered to have no contact with his son.
