Delaware Ends La Salle's 5-Win Streak, 70-66
NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Khalid Lewis scored all 18 of his points in the second half to lead Delaware to a 70-66 victory over La Salle on Monday night, snapping the Explorers' five-game winning streak.
Kyle Anderson hit a jumper and a three-pointer to break the game's ninth tie and give the Blue Hens (5-4) a 65-60 lead with 3:16 remaining.
Lewis hit four free throws down the stretch, including two with 20 seconds left.
The Explorers (7-4) missed two shots before Jamelle Hagins added Delaware's final point from the free-throw line.
Devon Saddler also scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Blue Hens, while Hagins finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for his sixth consecutive double-double.
Devon White scored 15 points to lead La Salle, which made just two of 14 from three-point range (14.3 percent), well below its 42.1 percent rate coming in.
