Delaware County's Masked Suspect Arrested For Robbery, 2 Attempted Robberies
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man has been arrested and charged with the robbery of a bank and two attempted armed robberies in the Philadelphia area.
Blair Thomas, Jr., a 29-year-old from East Lansdowne, was charged with the January 2014 robberies. Thomas reportedly attempted to rob the Yeadon Post Office on Jan. 22 armed with a .45-calbier Ruger, then tried to rob an employee at the Darby Post Office of money orders later that day.
On Jan. 23, Thomas reportedly robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 888 Baltimore Pike in Springfield of approximately $1,890.
In each of the incidents, Thomas is described as wearing a rubber type mask to hide his appearance (see previous story).
Thomas is charged with one count of bank robbery. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison.
