Delaware County Honors Its Residents at 100 Years Young
By Michelle Durham
DREXEL HILL, Pa. (CBS) -- Delaware County officials hosted the annual centenarian luncheon today for county residents who are nearing the age of 100 and their families.
Hilde Gibbs-Simmons, 99, used to work for Al Capone as a singer and professional piano player in Chicago speakeasies.
"They wouldn't bother us," she says of the clientele. "If one came up, that was it. You know -- pow!"
"He was nice to her," Hilde's daughter Dana said of Capone. "He watched over her when my dad was in the service."
At a nearby table today in the Drexelbrook Events Center was 99-year-old Frank Corr (below), a World War II veteran and devoted Phillies fan who is not too happy about his team right now.

"The Phillies -- I had high hopes," Corr said today. "Everybody says it's because Howard and Utley aren't playing, but the rest of them are not hitting the ball. Get someone to show them where the ball is," he suggests.
