Delco Courthouse Reopens After Bomb Threat Phoned In

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) -- A telephone bomb threat phoned into the Delaware County 911 center forced shutdown of the county courthouse in Media for more than three hours this morning.
Authorities say the bomb threat came in shortly after 9:30 a.m. and a decision was made minutes later to evacuate all courthouse offices and to shut down the courts as a precaution.
Delaware County sheriff's deputies, a bomb-sniffing dog, and the bomb squad were conducting a search of the courthouse but found nothing.
The building is located in the 200 block of West Front Street in Media, and deputies sealed off the area in the immediate vicinity of the building during the investigation.
County spokesman Bill Lovejoy says more than 45 prisoners who were in the courthouse for trials, hearings, or court business were taken back to county prison facilities.
Lovejoy says county employees, who were instructed by their supervisors to report back to the building by 1 p.m. for a status update, were told to go back to work at 1pm.
