Delaware County Couple Found Dead After Apparent Murder-Suicide

BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Bethel Township police found an elderly couple shot dead in their Delaware County home on Monday afternoon, and it appears to be a murder suicide.
Bethel Township Police Chief Tom Worrilow says they received a report of a carbon monoxide cardiac arrest at a home on Princess Anne Drive in Garnett Valley. When they arrived, they found a car running in the garage, but when they went inside, the residents – a woman in her 90s and a man in his 80s -- were both dead due to gunshot wounds.
"It appears that one victim's death is a result of a homicide, and the other victim's death is the result of a suicide. There are no signs of burglary or anything wrong inside of the home," Chief Worrilow says.
Worrilow also says the couple may have been dead for a few days, although just how long is unclear. They apparently lived in the home for more than 50 years, and there are reports that at least one of the victims had been ill with "unconfirmed reports of dementia."
There is no word yet on the identity of the couple.
