Del. Woman Arrested After Allegedly Bringing Her Baby Along For Robbery
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A Wilmington mother was arrested after allegedly bringing her one-year-old daughter along for a robbery.
On Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 3:26 a.m., a female suspect entered the Wawa at 705 Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington, where she reportedly indicated she was armed with a gun and demanded money from the register.
After obtaining the money, the suspect fled in a yellow minivan cab.
Troopers then responded to the Wilmington train station, where they located the cab. The driver, who was allegedly unaware of what happened inside the store, gave police an address on the 100 block of Ashton Street in Wilmington where he'd dropped the suspect off.
Police then went to that address, where they arrested 29-year-old Amanda Paoletti. An investigation revealed the suspect's one-year-old daughter and the owner of the house were both inside the cab at the time of the robbery. The homeowner apparently had no knowledge of the robbery.
A search of the suspect also revealed she was in possession of cocaine.
Paoletti is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a child, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is currently being held at Delores Baylor Women's Correctional Institute in lieu of $8,000 bail.
