Del. Couple Arrested After Police Find 5,925 Bags Of Heroin And 'Arsenal' Of Guns
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A Wilmington couple was arrested after police found an arsenal of guns and more than 5,000 bags of heroin in their possession.
On Friday, Feb. 15 at around 11:45 p.m., Kevin and Shauntai Harris were stopped by members of the Drug Organized Crime and Vice Unit (DOCV) on the 500 block of N Franklin Street in Wilmington.
Further investigation by police revealed that the duo was in possession of 5,925 bags of heroin, an AK-47 assault rifle, a Colt .357 magnum, and several other guns, as well as $11,741 in cash.
Kevin Harris, 36 and a convicted felon, is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (5 Counts), Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (4 Counts), Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (5 Counts), Receiving a Stolen Firearm (3 Counts), Possession of a with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Heroin), Aggravated Possession of Heroin Tier 5 and Conspiracy 2nd. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of a $5 million cash bond.
Shauntai Harris, 30, was charged with Receiving a Stolen Firearm (3 Counts), Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance Tier 4 (Heroin), Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (5 Counts), Aggravated Possession of Heroin Tier 4 and Conspiracy 2nd. She was committed to Deloris J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in lieu of a $431,100.00 secured bond.
