What's Proper Social Media Etiquette For Breakups?
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - With so many people professing their love on Facebook this week for Valentine's Day, what's the Facebook etiquette in the event of a breakup?
If you profess your love on Facebook and then you break up, do you announce it to the world? Or even more personal, do you defriend your ex?
"Hopefully it would be an amiable breakup and you wouldn't have to! I mean, if you're an adult," one woman said.
"It depends on the severity of the breakup," another woman responded.
Kuznits: "If you were defriended by someone who was an ex, would you be offended?"
"No, I wouldn't. I don't think so."
And what about defriending your ex's friends?
"If it's under conditions where you don't want to be friends, then you might want to just separate your whole connections with them," this woman answered.
Kuznits: "Of course if you defriend the ex-boyfriend or the ex-girlfriend and their friends then you can't Facebook stalk them."
"Right! Well, I would think you would have to leave that situation when you defriend the ex boyfriend, right?"
If you've been dumped and defriended, this guy has some advice, "Delete FB, join a gym."
