Defense Asks Judge To Bar Note In Pennsylvania Slaying Trial
MEDIA, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia man accused of having killed his father almost five years ago says a note found by police was made after a conversation with his attorney.
Lawyers for 26-year-old Parth Ingle on Friday asked a judge to bar Delaware County prosecutors from using the note as evidence in their client's trial in the death of Arunkumar Ingle, who was found beaten and stabbed in the family's Middletown Township home in January 2008.
Authorities say the note included the words "'Statute,' 'What would happen to you guys,' and 'Can I be arrested in another country.' "
The victim's wife, 55-year-old Bhavnaben Ingle, is also charged.
Parth Ingle was previously convicted of hacking into his father's emails. Prosecutors also alleged that he used a GPS device to track his father's movements.
