Death Of Man Found In Cherry Island Landfill Ruled Homicide
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The death of a man whose body was discovered at the Cherry Island Landfill has been ruled a homicide.
The landfill operator says a worker watching to make sure prohibited items aren't dumped at the Wilmington facility spotted the body falling from a dump truck on Friday morning.
Newark police have joined the investigation because police say the truck's stops Friday morning were all made at trash bins near College Square and East Main Street in Newark.
The man's death has been ruled a homicide and police believe based on the autopsy that the body was not in the trash bin for a long time. His name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
