Dawkins To MC McNabb Ceremony
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – When Donovan McNabb walks on to the field, and takes his place among other Eagles legends by having his #5 retired, he'll have some company.
Brian Dawkins, the leader of the defense during the McNabb era of Eagles football, will MC the halftime ceremony during tonight's Eagles vs. Chiefs game, according to the Eagles official website.
If anyone in the crowd had thoughts of booing McNabb, as some have promised, it will be much harder to do with the universally beloved Dawkins at the center of the ceremony.
Dawkins' #20 was retired during a halftime ceremony during the 2012 season.
Dawkins will not be the only player from that era on hand to honor McNabb, as Ike Reese, Jamaal Jackson, Reggie Brown and Jon Runyan will be just some of the former players on hand. And obviously, the man who drafted, coached, and traded McNabb will be in the house as well, Chiefs coach Andy Reid.
