Dangerous Heroin Batch Blamed For Camden Overdoses
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Law enforcement officials say some recent heroin overdoses in Camden are linked to an extremely dangerous batch of the drug that could be fatal.
Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk says three people were treated for overdoses at Cooper Hospital on Friday night. Faulk would not say where those people bought the heroin, but he did say it would be tested to determine the drug's composition.
Authorities say the heroin that caused the overdoses may contain toxic elements that could be deadly without medical care. They are working to determine out the source of the drugs, but declined to provide further details.
