Dan Marino Talks Chip Kelly, Eagles Quarterback Situation
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Will the signing of Chip Kelly mean that the Eagles will give Michael Vick another chance? Will Kelly adjust his offensive system to fit Nick Foles? Or will the Eagles start the 2013 with a new quarterback?
One of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history thinks it could go any one of those three ways.
"The only issue with Mike, I think he's a dynamic player and he has been, and he can win big ball games for you, but he gets injured a lot," Dan Marino told 94WIP's Angelo Cataldi and The Morning Show. "You got to find a guy that you think is going to be that quarterback that is going to line up 16 weeks in a row for you and the franchise can build around, and Nick Foles I'm not totally sure about it."
Kelly has said he prefers a quarterback who can run, rather than a runner who can pass, and Vick, even at his best, seems more the latter. Kelly was also very complimentary of Foles when he was at the University of Arizona.

"Mostly what new coaches do when they come in, it's the first month they'll be evaluating who they have," Marino said. "They seem to always want to try to get their guys, their people. He'll be looking for a quarterback that he thinks he can build around. Looking at his offense and how it runs their option, read-option, quick game, if they're going to use that---Michael Vick might be the guy that could fit right in for them at first, until they get the guy they really want.
