DA: Autopsy Shows Pa. 2-Month-Old Shot In Abdomen

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania district attorney says an autopsy determined that a 2-month-old girl shot on Christmas Eve died of a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman said Thursday the girl was killed by a handgun fired by an adult relative inside the home near Lancaster.

Stedman says the identity of the victim and shooter are expected to be released later in the day. He says it may take some time to determine if charges are warranted.

Officials have said the girl and the shooter were alone when incident occurred Tuesday afternoon.

She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
