Curt Schilling Admits To Having A Heart Attack
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Curt Schilling was honored last week by the Phillies and inducted into the team's Wall Of Fame. As it turns out, he was lucky to be anywhere at all last week.
In an interview with the Boston Globe, Schilling says he had a heart attack in 2011.
"Uh, I already [had a heart attack], actually," Schilling said. "Yeah, I did, a couple of years ago. Nobody knows that, actually."
"I was in New York with my wife, who was running the New York Marathon. I was watching it and I had chest pains.''
Schilling said he waited for his wife to finish the race before he decided to get help.
"My doctor made it clear that I was very, very, lucky."
Schilling said he had surgery the next day to have a stent inserted.
