Crews Work To Keep Roads Safe After Storm In Chester County
EAST WHITELAND Twp., Pa., (CBS) – The evening commute is just as treacherous as the morning commute in some parts the region.
All caused by another round of snow.
Plow trucks had worked through the night on Chester County highways fighting the battle to keep roads safe as the storm hit hard at the start of morning rush.
"It snowed very heavily, we probably got three or four inches in a couple of hours," driver Joe Fay said.
"The back roads are pretty bad, but the main ones are okay," driver Kyle Davies said.
By noontime, even most secondary streets were scraped clear.
"Not as bad as I thought it was going to be, I thought it would be a lot worse," driver Gail Sauler said.
"I think it went pretty well, they got out ahead of it," Malvern resident Bob O'Neill said.
While the latest gift from Mother Nature was a nuisance, the consensus: without serious accidents or delays, Chester County got off lightly.
Unless, like resident Frank Venditti, you have to shovel nearly four inches of the heavy, wet flakes.
"This will be over soon, next week it will be warmer, I hope," Venditti said.
