Crews Battle 2-Alarm Apartment Fire In West Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Crews battled a two-alarm fire at a 4-story apartment building in West Philadelphia on Saturday morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene of the blaze in the 4700 block of Chestnut Street just after 6 a.m.
Officials say the apartment building was partially occupied. Firefighters immediately began helping those residents evacuate the building as the fire quickly escalated to two-alarms.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The American Red Cross is assisting at least 10 people who were displaced by the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
