Eastbound Lanes Of Pa. Turnpike Reopen After Crash
BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- An accident involving three tractor-trailers shutdown the eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County for approximately seven hours Friday.
The accident happened at about 6 a.m. Friday in the eastbound lanes of the Turnpike near the exit for Route 1 in Bensalem.
According to investigators, the accident involved three tractor-trailers.
As a result of the crash, several rolls of steel that were being hauled by one of the tractors involved in the crash smashed through a concrete barrier and ended up in the westbound lanes.
The eastbound lanes remain closed until about 1 p.m.
Turnpike officials said two people were injured. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
