Crash In Northeast Philadelphia Leaves One Dead, One Injured
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A one car crash in the city's northeast has left one person dead and one person hospitalized in critical condition.
Philadelphia police accident investigators say the unidentified driver lost control of his car around 10:45p.m.on Saturday in the 2700 block of Red Lion road near Norcom Street.
The car left the roadway, smashed into a tree, and burst into flames. The passenger had one of his legs amputated as he was ejected through a window. The driver was trapped in the burning wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene. Both men are believed to be in their twenties.
An autopsy is pending as the investigation into the Saturday night crash continues.
