Cousins Shot Overnight In North Philly, But Police Say Something Isn't Adding Up

By Dan Wing and Jan Carabeo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are searching for a shooter after two cousins are found injured in North Philadelphia early this morning.

Police say the two victims were found in front of a home on Glenwood Avenue around 1 a.m. A 16-year old boy had been shot four times in the legs and arm, while a 20-year-old female had been shot once in the back.

They told police they ran to that spot after being shot a couple of blocks away near Park Avenue and Somerset Street by a man who approached them and opened fire for no reason.

Chief Inspector Scott Small tells CBS 3 Eyewitness News that something about their story doesn't add up.

"Something unusual about this shooting is both of the victims were found at least two blocks away from not only where they live, but from where they state they were when they were shot."

Small says so far no evidence of a shooting has been found where the victims say it happened.

Both victims were being treated for their injuries at Temple University Hospital.
