Court OKs Protests Outside Adult Bookstore In Montgomeryville, Pa.
MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa. (CBS) -- A Christian men's group that has been protesting for several years outside a sexually oriented business in Montgomery County has won a victory in federal court.
A federal judge has turned down a request from Adult World in Montgomeryville for a temporary restraining order and permanent injunction against the group called The King's Men.
Over the last five years, on the first Wednesday of every month, the group would show up hoping to put a crimp in the business.
"Ultimately we'd like to eradicate porn in the State of Pennsylvania altogether," says Mark Houck, their president and cofounder. "Is that realistic? Who knows? We're going to do that, one sexually oriented business at a time, one person at a time. And if it happens, it happens," he tells KYW Newsradio.
More realistic, he says, would be tougher laws and ordinances that make it more difficult for porn shops to set up shop in communities.
The court ruled the group was not trespassing on private property and not creating a public nuisance.
