Could The Flyers Trade For A Goalie?
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers made a move yesterday, trading for Dallas defenseman Nicklas Grossman in exchange for two draft picks. Not everyone thinks that will be their final move before the NHL's February 27th trade deadline. Though most think they may trade for another defenseman, the other position they could be after might surprise you.
Anthony SanFilippo, Flyers beat writer for the Delaware County Daily Times joined 94 WIP's Angelo Cataldi and The Morning Team on Friday to talk about what the moves the Flyers might make. "I'm not saying it's definite, and I'm not saying it's going to happen. I would not be surprised, if the Flyers, and they think they can make a push this year, look before the trade deadline to bring another goaltender," SanFilipo said. "They're never afraid to correct their mistakes no matter how expensive they are."
Trading for a goaltender would be surprising, because of the money the Flyers have invested in Ilya Bryzgalov. "I don't know where is head is, or if it will ever be back in our universe," SanFilipo said of Brygalov.
So what do you think, could the Flyers trade for a goaltender? Let us know in the comments.
