Spotlight Turns To Defense As Cosby Trial Resumes Monday In Montgomery County
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- Bill Cosby's sex assault trial continues in Montgomery County as the spotlight now turns to defense.
The prosecution wrapped up its case on Friday, after 12 witnesses over five days, including two accusers.
Andrea Constand the woman whose accusations that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted he resulted in these charges, and Kelly Johnson, a former Talent agency employee with similar accusations against Cosby in Los Angeles in the 90's.
Prosecution Rests In Sexual Assault Case Against Bill Cosby
Before the trial began, Bill Cosby said he would not take the stand, but as he left the courthouse on Friday, his publicist told reporters they hadn't ruled it out. But a misstep by Cosby on the stand could open the door for prosecutors to call other accusers as rebuttal witnesses.
The defense could also rest without calling anyone to the stand, if they are confident their cross examinations of prosecution witnesses created all the reasonable doubt they think they need.
