PHILADELPHIA (CBS)--Newark Mayor Cory Booker's father, Cary Booker, passed away today in Las Vegas.

According to the Booker campaign, his father suffered a stroke this morning.

Cory Booker is currently in the race for a Senate seat in New Jersey.

Today's remaining campaign events have been canceled.
