PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 19-year-old is at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after police say he was shot at least nine times in South Philadelphia.
It happened near the Citgo gas station at the intersection of 21st Street and Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia just before midnight Thursday.
Police say evidence on the scene suggests he was hurt during a shootout between at least two people.
"Based on ballistic evidence, we know at least 14 shots were fired from two separate caliber weapons," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
They also found two small bags of drugs near bullet casings.
"There's a possibility this shooting is narcotics related," said Small.
Detectives will go through surveillance video from several surveillance cameras found in the area.
The victim was last listed in critical condition.
