Plane Crashes, Catches Fire At Atlantic County Airport


HAMMONTON, N.J. (CBS) – Crews are investigating what caused a plane to crash in Atlantic County Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 12 p.m. at the Hammonton Municipal Airport, located at 75 Academy Drive.

Police say a twin engine plane with two occupants crashed upon landing and caught on fire.

No injuries have been reported.

The plane, owned by Terry Luis of Damascus, Maryland, reportedly took off from the Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, Maryland at about 11 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
