Cops: Alert Citizen Helps With Arrest Of 2 Burglary Suspects In New Jersey
GLENDORA, N.J. (CBS) – Officials in New Jersey say an alert citizen helped police arrest two suspects who were robbing a home in Camden County.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Furman Drive in Glendora.
According to authorities, police received a call from a citizen who said they saw two suspicious males leaving the back of a home and entering a red vehicle.
Officials say the citizen followed the vehicle and gave Gloucester Township Police continual updates.
Police say officers were able to locate the vehicle on Evesham Road, but when officers activated their emergency warning lights to pull the vehicle over the suspects fled towards the Deptford Mall and entered the northbound lanes of Route 42 at speeds over 100 MPH.
Officers were able to get the New Jersey registration, say police, and responded to the 1100 block of Lewis Terrace in Woodbury with the assistance of Woodbury police.
Authorities say 44-year-old Mark Gannon of Woodbury and 25-year-old Daniel Bennis of Westville were taken into custody and charged with burglary, theft and related offenses.
They were both committed in lieu of bail.
