Cops: 3rd Male Arrested In Connection With Shooting Near Archbishop Ryan
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities say a third male has been arrested in connection with a shooting behind Archbishop Ryan High School in Northeast Philadelphia.
Police say a 17-year-old male was shot in the left leg at the baseball field behind the high school Saturday night.
The victim told investigators that while he was with a group of friends two males approached him about buying narcotics.
Police say the victim did not know the men and they exchanged hostile words. The males walked away while on the phone, giving someone their location.
The victim told investigators that a few minutes later, a third male approached him with the two other men and pointed a black handgun at him making threats.
Authorities say a fight broke out and the three offenders attacked the victim. In the process, police say a gun was fired by the third male, striking the victim in the leg.
The males fled the scene on foot.
The victim was taken Aria Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.
While surveying the area, police say officers stopped two men fitting the description on the 3800 block of Elmore Place.
Police identified them as 16-year-old Jonathan Rojas from Camden, New Jersey, and 19-year-old Joshua Sanchez from Gloucester, New Jersey.
They are charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault and related offenses.
On Tuesday, police say the third male was arrested and identified as 18-year-old Charlie Rolon.
He was charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, violation of the uniform firearms act and related offenses.
