Convicted Felon Now Facing Murder Charges For Death Of Delaware Woman
NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – A convicted felon has been charged in the death of a Delaware woman found shot inside a New Castle apartment.
Wade Smith, 24, is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing weapons, but he is now facing charges for the murder of Ashleigh Close.
Close, who was found shot to death inside a residence at the Pine Valley apartment complex on Sept. 10, was the alleged girlfriend of Smith, which helped police to identify him.
Smith has been charged with murder in the first degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He was arraigned and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institute and is being held without bail.
