Convenience Store Clerk Beaten During Robbery
CLAYMONT, Del. (AP) -- Delaware State police say a clerk at a Claymont convenience store was beaten during a robbery.
It happened about 4:45 a.m. Friday at the Cumberland Farms store on Naamans Road. Troopers say two men wearing ski masks approached a clerk from behind as she prepared to open the store for the day.
At least one of the men had a handgun, and the men hit the woman on the head several times, possibly with a gun. They forced the woman to open the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money. The robbers fled on foot.
The woman suffered head injuries but declined medical treatment.
