Consumer Report: Travel Applications for Your Phone
by CBS3's Jim Donovan for KYW Newsradio 1060
Need help getting around an unfamiliar airport? There's a web application for that. Try GateGuru.
Looking to make travel arrangements? Applications such as TripIt, TraveTracker and Kayak can help you out.
Caroline MCarthy is with CNET. She uses flight tracker to monitor plane schedules:
"You can tell if a flight you are slated to be on or a friend or family member is slated to be on is on time, where it is in the air, assuming you're on the ground checking that, which gate it's coming out of, which gate it's going into."
And once you land, you can use applications like Dopplr to find a good restaurant, Taxi Magic to call a cab, or have an instant tour guide with Wikitude.
