Consumer Report: Big Deals on Car Leases

by CBS3's Jim Donovan for KYW Newsradio 1060

Leasing deals were tough to come by when the economy hit the skids. But Jessica Caldwell of edmunds.com says times are changing:

"We're seeing more mainstream automakers, the domestics who really took an aggressive stance to get away from auto leasing in the fall of 2008, comeback -- General Motors, Ford, Chrysler -- all re-evaluating opportunities in the leasing market."

Dealerships are advertising payments of $200-$300 a month and are offering some sweet incentives like no money down.

Experts say there are good deals to be had but the price may not be all inclusive, so ask about taxes and fees.

And before leasing any vehicle you'll want to consider how many miles you'll drive as you'll pay extra if you go over your mileage cap in your lease.
