Consumer Corner: Southwest Double Rewards Credit
Southwest Airlines has introduced a double credit promotion for members of their Rapid Rewards frequent flyer program.
The promotion is good when members fly in or out of Philadelphia starting September 23 through December 15, 2010. Rapid Rewards members will earn two credits for every one-way flight (four credits when traveling roundtrip). Customers who book a Business Select Fare will receive additional credit, 2.25 credits for flights less than 750 miles and 3.0 credits for flights 750 miles or longer.
To qualify, Rapid Rewards Members must register or join prior to travel by visiting: www.southwest.com/phillydoublecredit.
Members must register and book their flights between September 16, 2010, and December 15, 2010, for travel September 23, 2010 through December 15, 2010.
** FYI, I just registered for this promotion myself. When I got back the confirmation notice it says that this offer is not good for existing reservations. I would suggest that if you have a current reservation for the time this promotion is running, if the fare is still available, I would cancel and rebook immediately after registering for this offer. That way you can get the double credit.
