Construction Underway On 2 Little League Baseball Fields In Camden County

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) - Camden is getting some big-league help to build two baseball fields for kids in the Cramer hill section.
Construction is underway on two new Little League fields - one with lights, one without - at the $90 million Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center being built in Camden.
Major League Baseball and the Major League Players Association gave $65,000 to create the fields, says center administrator Salvation Army Major Paul Cain.
"Right now we have just in this neighborhood, the Cramer Hill Little League has 400 baseball players and two fields that they have to play on and a lot of times those are underwater. So this'll be a big addition to the community," he explains.
The fields and community center are being built on the site of the former Harrison Avenue landfill. They're expected to open next year.
