Construction Set On New La Salle University Business School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- La Salle University has announced construction of a new business school building, which marks a beginning in a couple of ways.
The $35 million project, to be completed in 2016, will move the business school out of a beloved building but one that is showing its age, according to La Salle President Brother Michael McGinness. The new hall, with a six story section and a four story one flanking a sunny atrium, will be up the street from La Salle's original campus, on the site of a former Presbyterian church, adjacent to the nursing school.
"Putting another big building further up towards the west side of campus will be a real statement for LaSalle, I think, about its intentions, its confidence in the neighborhood," says McGinness. "It is taking us along Olney Avenue more than we have been."
Right to the corner where Olney become Chew.
Brother McGinnis says the new 78,000 square foot building has been designed with today's wireless, virtually borderless business world in mind.
Future use of the current building is undecided.
