Concussion Impact Testing Offered At Bucks County Ice Rink

WARWICK, Pa. (CBS) - A Bucks County Ice Rink wants parents to take a proactive, rather than reactive approach, to ice hockey injuries -- concussions in particular. So they are offering a Concussion Impact Testing evaluation before your child takes the ice those who get the testing will receive expedited treatment.
Rink at Warwick owner Devra Shore is also a Mom and she understands injuries are a part of risk of playing ice hockey, so she has teamed up with Nicole Edling owner of Aspire Sports Medicine.
"The reason to have someone like Nicole and her program within the rink it's like one stop shopping," Shore said. "You don't know where to go. It's a moment of panic. She has neurologists on staff, orthopedists, podiatrists a pediatrician."
And she will call and set up appointments for parents and help coordinate care. Shore says the computer memory testing is conducted in a quiet room and she recommends it for all who play hockey.
"Nobody knows if it is going to happen at game one or game twenty but unfortunately takes a hit. Someone trips, someone falls."
