Commuters Urged to Plan for Washington's Crossing Bridge Closure
If you use the Washington's Crossing bridge, be prepared for headaches starting Monday morning.
KYW's Lynne Adkins reports that the bridge will close to traffic at 6 a.m.
Frank McCartney, executive director of the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, says the closure will last 46 days:
"The bridge will re-open September 24th. We're asking [drivers] to plan ahead. We want them to be prepared that on Monday morning, there will be an adjustment period. This is something the Commission has had to do with a number of our bridges."
McCartney suggests using the Scudder Falls Bridge or the New Hope-Lambertville crossing.
The $3.5 million project includes repairs to the bridge's masonry support structures below and improvements on the decking above.
