Community Project Planned in Memory of Lambertville, NJ Woman Found Dead
By Brad Segall
LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. (CBS) -- Friends of Sarah Majoras will gather this weekend to remember the popular bartender, hoping that a collection drive will raise enough money for them to create an everlasting remembrance to her.
In an effort to celebrate Sarah's life, her friends will gather Saturday evening at 5pm in the parking lot of Lambertville Station, in Hunterdon County, NJ. That's near where her body was pulled from the icy waters of the Delaware and Raritan Canal on Wednesday (see related story).
Majoras was last seen alive early Saturday morning, crossing the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge (another related story).
Meanwhile, her longtime friend Joseph Ujj says they hope to raise money to light the towpaths on both sides of the river.
"It would be a really good remembrance of Sarah," he tells KYW Newsradio. "It would kind of be like her light, and just... the whole path through these two towns, just have them lit up."
There is a community collection booth at the New Hope Library. Ujj says Sarah's friends are still having trouble making sense of their loss, but he hopes by bringing them together to talk about her it will help them get through the grieving process.
