PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Nearly a year after he began the job, the president of Community College of Philadelphia was inagurated today.
Donald ("Guy") Generals has been an advocate for community college education for two decades. Now, he is hoping to push forward even more here.
"My hopes and dreams for the future is that we are able to rally around my vision of making Community College of Philadelphia a prominent economic as well as social change institution in the city," he told KYW Newsradio following his formal inauguration this morning at nearby Rodeph Shalom synagogue, on Broad Street.
Gernerals wants more students to be able to go to community college. Just a month ago, he changed school policy to allow any graduates from a city high school to attend CCP, tuition free, if they meet certain criteria.
He is the sixth president of CCP since it opened its doors in 1965.
