Community Center In Northeast Philadephia Looking For Volunteers
By Lynne Adkins
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A northeast Philadelphia community center needs help cooking for and feeding the homebound.
If you like to cook or assist your neighbor, the Klein JCC could use your help.
Lisa Sandler, director of community services, says it would only require a commitment of two hours a person per month.
"We're looking for groups to organize or individuals to come on site and cook in our kitchen or find a community partner and cook in their neighborhood and maybe make soup [for] 50 to 100 meals and you don't need to be a chef," explains Sandler.
Klein JCC provides nearly 800 meals a week to area elderly residents who are too frail to cook for themselves or manage the supermarket. For more information call 215-698-7300 ext. 196.
