Commodore Barry Bridge Ramp Buckles, Repairs Under Way
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) -- A ramp to connecting a well-traveled Philadelphia-area bridge to Interstate 95 is closed while workers repair damage apparently caused by blistering high temperatures.
The ramp connecting the Commodore Barry Bridge to I-95 in Chester was temporarily closed Monday after the surface buckled. It reopened in the evening but is closing for several hours Tuesday while permanent repairs are made. The ramp was closed at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and is expected to reopen at 2 p.m.
The bridge is about 10 miles south of Philadelphia, linking the city of Chester to southern New Jersey.
