Collegeville Theater Offers Dinner And A Movie: All At Once

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. (CBS) - In Collegeville, Montgomery County, dinner is served: and you don't have to leave your movie theater seat to get it.

In a world where popcorn, candy and soda are all you can eat at most multiplexes, the newly-opened Movie Tavern at the Providence Town Center serves up first-run films and classy cuisine in each of its eight theatres.

"You don't have to worry about hurrying up to get the check so you can get over to the movie," says Karen Sibley with Movie Tavern.  "You're already here!"

Sibley says you pick your stadium seat, slide across your tray and press the button to summon a server when you're hungry or thirsty, "Kobe Beef Sliders, Thai chicken flatbread, our hamburgers are really good.  We also have a game day platter to share."

Wash it down with a smoothie or a shake, even a frozen margarita from the full bar -- all while watching, say, the Harry Potter finale, which premieres here at midnight Friday.

The full bar leads to a tradeoff, though: you can't imbibe if you're not of legal age, of course, but if you're under 17 you have to let your mom or dad tag along for the whole show.
